He was Vietnam U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and following their activities. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching, and computer programming. He also enjoyed writing his blog, Mofunny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances Hogg; and his brothers, William Hoag, Bruce Hogg, and John Hogg. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlene Hogg of Fisherville; his son, Chuck Hogg (Angela) of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Charles “Charlie” Hogg III, Hannah Hogg, and Harvey Hogg; and his brother, Frank Hogg of Florida.
The website he built
Tom created scths.com in 2001 for the Class of ’61 and its 40th reunion. The domain was registered in July 2001, and the earliest archived page reads “Updated August 5, 2001 – 12 days to reunion.” The Internet Archive captured the site from 2002 through 2019; over those years it grew into the class’s home on the web, with reunion news, photographs, the class roster, a memorial page for departed classmates, class news, and a section for the Class of 1960.
“Created and Developed by C. Thomas Hogg, Class ’61”— the footer of every page on scths.com
The Class of ’61 Steering Committee listed him as its “Web Master Esq.”
“…how Tom Hogg keeps us all in touch through our website…”— Donna Prosser Britton, writing about the 45th reunion on scths.com, 2007
Tom married Charlene Woodworth, Class of ’60 (the site’s class couples list includes “Tom Hogg & Charlene Woodworth (’60)”). Charlene created The Recorder for the Class of 1960’s 50th reunion.
The scths.com website was originally created and maintained by Tom Hogg (C. Thomas Hogg, Class ’61), and his son Chuck Hogg has maintained it since.
